JOHN FOGERTY WITHOUT A RECORD LABEL?
Mark Knopfler mentioned this in a
Rolling Stone-Interview:
"
I know it's kind of difficult these days, especially in
America. There's a real sort of an ageist thing going
on there at the moment, isn't there? Somebody was
telling me John Fogerty hasn't got a record
company..."

FANCLUB NEWS
Invitation for the 3rd FANCLUBDAY
October 21st, 2000 the 3rd fanclubday will be held. This time not in Maastricht but in the northern
part of Holland, exactly in Hoogkarspel, a small village 45 km (30 miles) from Amsterdam Airport and
close to (7 km) Enkhuizen, a famous place in the dutch fishery history.
The program for this day is almost equal the program of the 2nd fanclubday, but no release of a new
book or presence of ZYX with new CD's this time. But again finishing with a performance of Rene
Innemee & The (Creedence) Revival Band.
If you like, take your private music-instrument with you, because you can jam again. (Also see
below).
And, Mike Hoekendijk and his both sons are live on stage again. They told me they made a lot of
progress. Of course exchanging stuff with other collectors is also possible, so don't forget your
own stuff.
We start at 1.00 pm in the cellarbar of cafe/restaurant Bantam, Streekweg 202, 1616 AN Hoogkarspel
[telephone (31) 228 56 13 16 and fax (31) 228 56 27 52]. We will not be cramped for space this time,
even not if 150 (local) visitors and fans join our fanclubday.

JOHN FOGERTY SUES FORMER LAWYERS
Jan 3, 2000, 11:15 am PT
John Fogerty
Former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty filed a $1.3 million lawsuit in Los Angeles
Superior Court on Thursday (Dec. 30) against his former law firm, Gibson, Hoffman & Pancione, and
lawyer, Kenneth Sidle, over allegedly providing the singer with incompetent legal advice and representation
in connection with various contractual disputes and lawsuits.
Fogerty, who is suing for negligence and breach of contract, claims he should have received $2,600,000 as
payment for royalties due as a result of a 1985 copyright infringement lawsuit against the singer brought
by Fantasy, Inc., a successor-in-interest to certain music publishing, recording, and songwriting by Fogerty
and CCR from 1968-1972. An amended joint pretrial statement was agreed to in the case by both parties,
a part of which included a stipulation known as the Fogerty Audit Claims.
In layman's terms, Fogerty, through the firm of Gibson, Hoffman, & Pancione, had a deadline of Dec. 31,
1989 to bring forth an audit of Fantasy and their payments to him, or forever hold his peace. Fogerty
alleges those claims were never made, nor was he aware of a deadline involving their institution. As a
result, Fogerty only received $1,225,000 in royalties, leaving a discrepancy of just over $1.3 million.
Fogerty also claims he is due $50,000 in interest from said royalties.
The suit reads, in part, "Sidle and GHP, and each of them, failed to exercise reasonable care, skill, and
diligence in representing Fogerty and negligently failed to advise Fogerty with respect to the existence,
meaning, and significance of the contents of the amended joint pretrial statement, negligently failed to
provide advice to Fogerty with respect to the exercise of the Fogerty Audit Claims, negligently failed to
protect the Fogerty Audit Claims and were negligent in the prosecution of the Fogerty Audit Claims ..."
