CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVISITED
back again!

1996 we got to see them at the "Tanzbrunnen" in Cologne. 1998 we went to two concerts in Bonn and Offenbach!

When we arrived Friday at the "Museumsplatz" in Bonn, we were suprised:

We just crossed the square and stepped to the stage and there we were. At the soundcheck!!!

Easy as that!

SOUNDCHECK:
WHO IS WHO

John Tristao, vocals, rythmguitar:

John Tristao plays a "Fender Thinline Telecaster".

Steve Gunner, keyboard, acoustic guitar, percussion:

Steve, here with his "Taylor" guitar, plays a "Korg- keyboard".

Elliot Easton, lead guitar:

Elliot plays two "Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters", a standard tuned white one, and a D-tuned green one on songs like "Grapevine", "Midnight Special", "Bad Moon Rising" and "Proud Mary".

Stu Cook, bass guitar:

Stu plays a white, five-string "Modulus Graphite" guitar.

Doug "Cosmo" Clifford, drums:

Doug uses a unidentified red drum set. In any case it was not the black YAMAHA- set, he used two years ago at the "Tanzbrunnen" in Cologne.

We'd like to thank Wolfgang Vornhof, who, with knowledge an the eyes of an eagle, analyzed all the band's equipment!
As early as the soundcheck the band members already are in a chooglin' mood, joking around and laughing. The whole time, no security is interested in us, so we are able to look, listen and take a lot of pictures! But the highlight of the day is still forthcoming:

THE CONCERT

Wholly in the style of CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL concerts in the past, today the opener is "BORN ON THE BAYOU"!

Actually, "Wholly in the style of CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL" is the motto of "CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVISITED".
The one and only job of this band founded in 1995 by Stu Cook and Doug Clifford is "TO KEEP THIS (CCR-) MUSIC ALIVE".

In response to this demand the band does an exellent job! The enthusiastic audience is celebrating a pure "Rock 'n' Roll" concert!

Elliot and John:
Never ending guitar sound

"The Show must go on!"
Doug "Cosmo" Clifford

John Tristao
singing like... John Tristao.
And it sounds well!
The own boots are
still the best to fill!

Watching Steve from far:
Blond curly head just like Tom Fogerty.

Elliot and Stu during their great " showdown" on "Heard It Through the Grapevine". Introduced by Elliot's guitar solo, they jammed together and Stu hung on an inspired bass solo that blew the audience away!

"Revisited"?
Not only, it may be a little bit more!

What a superb concert! CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVISITED is an exellent live band! They played all songs clean and exactly, and didn't miss a note. After about 30 years of making music together Doug Clifford and Stu Cook are a fine team; something you don't find too often. They integrate Elliot, Steve and John into it and so create a really homogeneous band.

REVISITED was even very good back in 1996. But they have not only celebrated partys since then - they kept working on their sound. The result speaks for itself!

AFTER SHOW

Doug and Lutz
The relaxed atmosphere of the day continues after the show. Though some of us had a problem with wrong backstage tickets, with a little help from Manfred Petri and Stu Cook himself all fanclub members get to the backstage party eventually!

Doug and Stu welcome us with a box filled with ice cold beer! What a cool "upbeat" !
They greeted many of us like old friends. Lutz, some others and I had the pleasure of meeting them for the first time. It was great! Stu and Cosmo were really laid back and uncomplicated and talked to everyone who approached them - it was all as comfortable as if we got together every day. Cosmo is a real storyteller - always thinking of something. Nevertheless he and the others were in high spirits and took part in the event. Only Elliot played hide-and-seek with us: I had to hunt him down to get an autograph from him.

The party is over!
We'll meet in Offenbach!
